Having been on the receiving end of too many emails about Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula I sense a sort of affiliate panic out there.

It’s a big ticket item and so affiliates are falling over themselves desperately trying to make sure that their email is the one that generates the sale.  I’m using it as an opportunity to trim down my subscriptions.

Smart affiliate marketers are loading up the deal with bonuses of their own too – buy through me, they say, and I’ll give you $14,566,095 of bonuses.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m certain that the Product Launch Formula 2.0 is good – but then again, it must be safe to assume the Jeff is using it to launch his new product himself. He’d be mad not to wouldn’t he?

So if you are bored of all the promos, go back through the emails you’ve had about it, watch the free videos and make some notes. You’ll end up with a reasonable product launch formula yourself – free.

It won’t be as good as the real deal but it will be one heck of a lot better than nothing.

Everyone wants to generate passive recurring income. But people’s attitude to it is completely irrational, especially online.

The problem is the requirement for instant results and a general impatience.

In any normal business you would expect to invest some money before you generated sales and until those sales came in you’d have to fund all the costs. Online people expect to invest nothing and expect an immediate return. If you do this you are losing out.

Let’s walk through some numbers.

Suppose you sell a product as an affiliate that generates $10 a month recurring commissions and that it actually costs you $50 per sale in AdWords clicks or whatever. Most people would back away thinking it wasn’t profitable enough. But look at month 6: your total commission is $60 so already you’ve made a 20% return on your investment.

For “real world” businesses, a 20% return on investment in 6 months is astounding.

Let’s go to month 12: total income $120. Return on investment is now 140% (120 commission – 50 advertising costs)/50 in a year.

And of course this number grows by 20% every month.

Would you like to make 140% in a year? Would you be prepared to put a little effort into setting up systems that do this?

Good for you, because most people can’t be bothered!

Here’s one place you can start. It’s called GadgetSpots.

Finally got round to submitting a new ad to the GadgetSpots network today. My first one was obviously TOO cheeky – I was advertising GadgetSpots within the GadgetSpots widget. A sort of narcissistic, iterative advertising.

Naughty boy.

Actually since I started doing that not only has my original ad been deleted but there’s also an explicit statement on the site telling people that they are not allowed to do this.

So anyway, I created a new ad today spurred on by enthusiastic reviews by various folk I trust online and I’ll be tracking the stats carefully and reporting back.

One of the things you can do with GadgetSpots ads, as you can with any traffic generating system, is to promote something that can make money for you on autopilot so you really need to have either a commercial website of some sort or to have selected a product you can sell as an affiliate. In fact that’s one of the beauties of something like GadgetSpot – you just set it up and use your own ads to drive traffic to a link that can make you money.

But what if you don’t have anything in mind? Well try this for starters. It’s a powerful ebook that you can sell. Get your own copy here.
